How to crop

  1. Choose your images, or drop them on the page.
  2. Set how much to cut from each side, as a percentage.
  3. Pick the output format, or keep each file in its own.
  4. Press Convert and download the cropped images.

Cropping by percentage

Percentage crop works on any image size without arithmetic: 10 percent off the top of a 4000-pixel photo removes 400 pixels; the same 10 percent on a 600-pixel thumbnail removes 60. Set one side only for a single-edge trim, or all four for a centred, frame-like crop.

The crop is a genuine cut: the pixels outside the frame are discarded and the file is re-encoded at your chosen quality, so the output is smaller by roughly the area you removed. Pixels that survive are drawn 1:1, with no scaling and no softening.

The jobs it exists for: trimming a phone photo's timestamp strip, squaring an avatar from a wide shot, cutting a watermark edge off a downloaded graphic, and removing the white border a scanner leaves.

Limits and honest notes

Up to 45 percent per side, and the pairs cannot leave less than a sliver. Transparent PNGs keep their transparency; flattening to JPG fills the removed corners question not at all, since they are gone.

"Keep each" re-encodes in the file's own format. JPG crops lose a generation of compression (invisible at quality 90); PNG crops stay lossless.

Up to 25 MB per file, 100 files per run. Everything runs in this tab; nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I crop to an exact aspect ratio?

Yes, with arithmetic: for 1:1 from a 4000x3000 photo, cut 25 percent from left and right. Percentages of each side are the whole interface.

Does cropping reduce quality?

Kept pixels are copied 1:1. JPG output re-compresses at your chosen quality; PNG output is bit-exact.

Can I crop a batch with the same margins?

That is the default: the percentages apply to every file in the run, whatever their sizes.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser.
