- Copy the Base64 string or download it as a .txt file.
- The encoding runs locally in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
What Base64 does to text
Base64 turns bytes into a string of letters, digits, + and /, so text can travel through systems that only accept plain ASCII. It is not encryption: anyone can decode it, so never use it to hide passwords or private data.
This tool encodes the UTF-8 bytes of your text, which means accents, emoji and non-Latin scripts round-trip correctly. Line breaks are preserved too. Decoding the result gives back exactly the characters you started with.
When to use it
Use Base64 for API payloads, email attachments, data URIs, config values and anywhere a JSON field must carry text safely. It is also handy for checking what a token or encoded blob contains before you paste it somewhere important.
The converter runs entirely on your device, so it works offline after the page loads. There is no size limit beyond your browser memory, no watermark and no daily cap.
Frequently asked questions
What is Base64?
Base64 is an encoding that represents binary data with 64 printable ASCII characters. It makes data safe to send through text-only channels but does not protect it.
Is Base64 encryption?
No. Base64 is reversible by anyone. Use real encryption for secrets and never treat an encoded string as secure.
Does it support emoji and accents?
Yes. The tool encodes the UTF-8 bytes of your text, so emoji, accents and non-Latin scripts decode back correctly.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server or stored.
Private by design
Stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded. The conversion runs in your browser: open the Network tab while you convert and you will see that nothing is sent. No account, no watermark, no daily limit.
