How to merge pdf
- Choose two or more PDFs, or drop them on the page. The list order is the page order.
- Rearrange the files with the arrows or by dragging rows.
- Press Merge. The pages are copied in order into one new document.
- Download merged.pdf, or start over and merge a different set.
About merging
Merging copies the pages of every document, in list order, into one new PDF. The pages are genuine copies: fonts, images, links, forms and vector content all travel with them, untouched. The source files stay on your device exactly as they were; nothing is modified, everything is read and copied.
Bookmarks are preserved where the tool can carry them: each document's outline entries are kept so the merged file stays navigable. Page sizes can be mixed freely, letter and A4 in the same document, because PDF pages are independent drawings.
There is no page limit beyond the 25 MB per file cap, and the merged result can hold hundreds of pages. The classic uses: combining scanned receipts for an expense report, assembling a single application from several documents, or bundling chapter PDFs into one manuscript.
What does not transfer
Encrypted documents with an open password cannot be read and are reported as errors. Remove the protection in the original application first.
Form field data typed into a blank form is not copied, only the blank form itself. Digital signatures break on merge by nature: a signature covers one exact document, and a merged copy is a different document, so the signature no longer validates anywhere.
Limits and honest notes
The merged file keeps the page order of the list, top to bottom. If the order looks wrong in the result, it looked wrong in the list; rearrange and merge again.
Up to 50 documents per merge. The whole job runs in this tab: open the Network tab and watch nothing leave your device.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. The merge runs in your browser using WebAssembly. You can watch the Network tab while you convert: no file bytes are sent anywhere.
Can I merge files of different page sizes?
Yes. PDF pages are independent; a Letter page and an A4 page coexist in one document without any scaling.
Why is my merged file larger than the sum of the parts?
Occasionally a merge adds structure overhead, especially with object streams. For most documents it comes out close to, or smaller than, the total.
Does the merge keep my bookmarks?
Where the source PDFs have outlines, they are carried into the merged document so navigation survives.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
Not while it is protected. Remove the password with the application that created it, then merge.
Private by design
Stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded. The conversion runs in your browser: open the Network tab while you convert and you will see that nothing is sent. No account, no watermark, no daily limit.
